The third book in this series has the most hope for the invaded worlds to overcome the aliens and it also has Rett's grim battle with the dark force controlling those aliens. While Rett and her troop fight to clear out the aliens, she has the opportunity to resolve many of the problems in her past. The problems with her father, with her lover and most important, the reasons that the aliens seem to focus on her. Rett also gets to meet family she didn't know existed and is introduced to a new species that join the war effort.While Rett's final battle is tough to read, her family and friends come through for her. You should read the first two books to appreciate the growth that she has gone through. I recommend this novel and would read more written in this universe. Pam needs a novella at least.

good fantasy-scifi series and a very good read.
But not withour many battles fought alongside unusual allies. Spiritually we won, also. I'm anticipating Ms. Roys extended sequel momentairily.
This final chapter set in bleak wintery conditions where evil Xonomer made it's match and F-troop, loyalty and love are winners.
I waited a long time to the conclusion of this trilogy. It was worth the wait. The action was riveting and I couldn't put it down. The ending was unexpected. I'll be watching for more of T.M. Roy's work.
I just wish books of this calibre would go on and on and on.....the books are mesmerizing and keep the reader spellbound and glued to the pages whether the medium is electronic or paper....I would recommend these books by T.M. Roy to anyone......period. A very good read. THANK YOU.
Great series. Good read with solid character development. The last fifty pages of book three were not up to the standard of the rest of the series. Although I understand the conclusion of this installment, the final few chapters need a rewrite to be more in keeping with the standard of the series. The last couple chapters need some editing and perhaps some restructure to more coherently draw this book to a close. The story ended cold and there were some brief outline notes inserted as an after thought by the author on what may or may not happen with the series in the future. Why didn't the author write a final chapter to tie these notes in and set the stage for the future of the series?
This was an absolutely fantastic ending to the trilogy! Action, both mental and physical, from start to finish and all of the characters that we know and love from book 1 and 2 are involved. My only complaint? The book just... ended...
Where's the epilogue? The rest of the clean-up? Yes, the story ended and doesn't leave us hanging, but typically books with a story arc so long and detailed with so many characters gets a wrap up at the end after the primary story is finished. What happened to Pam? Did she take the lessons learned and use that to turn her life around on earth? What about all of the other characters who sacrificed so much throughout the story - do they get any peace after the end? What happens with the ice beasts? How does Rett take settling into the home life in a place she hasn't been for so long? Aaahhhh! LOL.
